About Me

My name is Miles Salamirad and I am 20 years old. I am on the Autism Spectrum. I am a dedicated and imaginative visual artist with a passion for storytelling through digital media. My academic background and hands-on experience have allowed me to build a strong foundation in digital animation, illustration, and graphic design. I’ve pursued formal training in various creative and technical courses, excelling in everything from hand-drawn composition to motion graphics and computer-generated imagery.

Whether I’m developing an animated sequence, creating detailed illustrations, or designing dynamic visual layouts, I approach each project with curiosity, care, and creative intent. I’m always looking to grow as a designer and collaborate on meaningful work that blends art with communication.

Overview of Skills and Qualifications

I currently attend Exceptional Minds.  Exceptional Minds is a non-profit academy and studio preparing young adults on the autism spectrum for careers in animation, visual effects, 3D gaming and other related fields in the entertainment industry. They provide technical and work readiness training customized to help students achieve their full artistic and professional potential.

Recently I also graduated from Saddleback Community College where I received an Associates of Arts Degree in Illustration and Animation.  The Illustration/Animation Associate of Arts Program prepares students for entry-level animation and illustration employment in areas such as: editorial and product illustration, animation, motion design, multimedia design, digital image design, and responsive media.

Through a focused curriculum and hands-on creative coursework, I have developed strong technical and artistic abilities in the fields of digital animation, illustration, and graphic design. I have successfully completed and earned certification in a variety of courses that emphasize industry-relevant tools and techniques—from traditional drawing and composition to digital rendering, motion graphics, and computer graphics. These experiences have equipped me with both foundational knowledge and advanced skills that support professional-quality visual storytelling across multiple mediums.

Certifications and Completed Courses

Below is a list of the relevant courses and certifications I’ve completed, which reflect both creative and technical expertise in the field:

Saddleback College:

  • Digital Animation
Strengthening the use of Adobe Animate and created a storyboard and animation using the timeline and other tools I have learned throughout the semester.
  • Digital Illustration
Strengthening the excessive use of Adobe Illustrator, in which I illustrated an image of my favorite interest using the brush and other tools I have learned throughout the semester.

  • Drawing I
Strengthening my skills in drawing, in which we lectured and reviewed the different layers of lighting and shadowing as an example to perform magnificent art.

  • Graphic Illustration
Supporting the use of painting for a book cover as an example to perform better, but beautiful illustrations.

  • Graphic Rendering Techniques
Requires the strengths of excessive use of Sketchbook, an app that teaches the student how to use lines in order to model an object by using lighting, grids, and other techniques from different dimensions.

  • Introduction to Computer Graphics
Requires the use of Adobe Photoshop, in which I used the tools that we learned throughout the semester in order to build my very own website.

  • Motion Graphics
Strengthening my skills in Adobe After Effects, in which I used the tools that I have learned in order to create a music lyric video of a song that is not explicit of my choice.

  • Physical Geography & Physical Geography Lab
Supporting artistic environments and world building.

  • Principles of Composition I
Strengthening writing and communication, useful in storyboarding and narrative design.

Exceptional Minds:

  • 3D Modeling and Animation
Strengthened the use of creative skills on Autodesk Maya to learn about 3D modeling in which I created a 3D food truck.

  • Intro to Photoshop
Adobe Photoshop knowledge where subjects such as Double Exposure, Character Design, and Image Portraits were added to a demo reel in Adobe Premiere.

  • Unreal Engine
Introduction to building landscape backgrounds similar to what you would see on Minecraft (Video Game) and The Mandalorian (TV Series).

  • Intro to Animate
Created an original character “The Cowboy” who interacted with the Zombie Head in 2D animation.

  • Work Readiness
Learned about job interviewing, entry-level jobs in the workplace, workplace bullying, career paths, SWOT Analysis, S.T.A.R.R.T. Method, Time and schedule management, expected vs. unexpected behavior in the workplace, independency in the workplace, etc.
